When building a 2D engraving, we translate the laser points from your photo to a single plane. Doing so allows us to crease the image inside your crystal.
For a 3D image, the laser points now have depths translated from the image that will curve toward you in the front, and curve away from you from the back. Once engraved in your crystal, the front of the image will appear to be floating in mid-air. This also means the back will also have a type of reverse 3D illusion. The really cool part if the image will appear to follow the gaze as you move it around. Nice right?

We will try to use any photo of any subject, but sometimes there are additional factors that can affect the final engraving. For the most beautiful results for engraving your 3D Crystal,
Try to provide a clear, high-resolution photo. We do not recommend photos taken in low lighting or that contains detail that is hard to read like photos taken from airplanes of the ground. The best images will be those that are close-up portraits with good lighting of the people, objects, or your favorite pets to capture in 3D. Also remember the light base really makes the details of any 3D Crystal really show up.
Orders are entered into our production queue as soon as they are received. Typically to create the artwork and burn the image can take 1 – 5 days. It entirely depends on the current order volume and the type of picture provided. Most orders are processed in the same week they are received.
Yes, there is a limit of 150 characters, including spaces.
Absolutely, if you place an order and go to the contact page start your note with the order number. Everything after the order number will be printed on the note. If you want to give us a message then make sure it is above the order number. We send a lot of Crystals as gifts so we are used to it.
The round based will work for almost any Crystal. However, for larger crystals over 3” wide the rectangular base will provide better support and light up the crystal better. Light moves out like a “V” so it will spread into the crystal nicely.
The laser creates very tiny dots and changes the focal point to create the images and give them depth. The more people the greater need to add more dots to increase resolution to make people very clear. This means we need more surface area the more people you have in the picture. If we have to reduce the size of the photo too small detail will be lost. Here is a general guideline to go by to insure we have enough surface area to properly represent the detail of the people in your picture.
1-2 figures: Any Small Crystal
Up to 3 figures: Any Medium Crystal
Up to 4 figures: Large Square or Heart
Up to 5 figures: Any Large and the XL Heart or XXL Square
Up to 8 figures: Only the XXXL Rectangle
Up to 9 figures: Max Rectangle
Up to 15 figures: Titan Rectangle
For our crystal necklaces, keychains, and wine-stoppers, we recommend using photos with 1-2 figures.
You can upload any kind of image. Some tips to keep in mind are look for well-lit backgrounds and background when possible. You don’t want to use dark images or ones that look over exposed. It is best to use images that ware well focused, well lit.
